Day01

Manaus

Upon your arrival in Manaus, a comfortable transfer will take you to your hotel, allowing you to relax and take in the first glimpses of this vibrant Amazonian city.
As you travel from the airport, the daily life of Manaus unfolds before your eyes, offering a fascinating introduction to the local culture. Indigenous influences are evident everywhere—in the city’s architecture, its flavorful cuisine featuring local fish, cassava, and exotic fruits like Tucumã, and the intricate geometric patterns that adorn buildings and handicrafts.
If your flight arrives before 1:00 PM, you can embark on an exclusive private tour of Manaus’ historic center, providing a deeper insight into the city’s rich heritage in approximately three hours. If time does not permit, the tour will be arranged upon your return from the lodge, ensuring you don’t miss out on this unforgettable experience.

Day02

In the morning, after enjoying a hearty Brazilian breakfast, you will check out of your hotel. Between 8:00 and 9:00 AM, depending on your hotel’s location, a vehicle will pick you up for your journey to the lodge. For a more exclusive experience, the transfer can also be arranged by seaplane—contact us for more details on this option. The 3-hour journey, covering nearly 200 kilometers, offers your first encounter with the untouched Amazon rainforest. The first thing that strikes you is the sheer size and grandeur of the trees. Their massive and imposing presence is unmatched by even the largest European species. Towering tens of meters high, each tree functions as a multi-layered ecosystem. From the ground to the canopy, every branch is home to a variety of unique wildlife, coexisting with other plant species such as ferns, vines, and magnificent orchids. These orchids have played a crucial role in the botanical exploration of the region, attracting numerous European explorers and botanists over the centuries in search of rare specimens. Upon arrival at the lodge, you will settle into your private bungalow, nestled deep within the rainforest, and take time to unpack. At noon, it’s time for a delightful lunch. A delicious meal crafted from fresh regional ingredients is served in a scenic setting overlooking the surrounding jungle—perfect for relaxation and savoring the flavors of Amazonian cuisine. In the afternoon, the lodge team will propose an exciting activity (refer to the list of activities for Day 3), tailored to the day's weather conditions, the season, or simply your personal preferences, ensuring you make the most of your stay at Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge. Dinner is served at the restaurant around 7:00 PM, offering another opportunity to indulge in regional specialties made from the river’s bounty and the surrounding jungle. The dishes are expertly prepared to highlight their delicate flavors. After your meal, you are invited to embark on a nighttime boat excursion, where you will venture into the darkness to observe the nocturnal wildlife emerging from their hiding spots in search of food. In the stillness of the night, your senses heighten as you tune into the countless mysterious sounds of the jungle, gaining a deeper appreciation of the hidden activity behind the dense foliage. With the help of powerful flashlights, your guide will spot a small caiman, one of the hundreds that emerge at dusk. Momentarily frozen by the beam of light, the caiman remains still, allowing your guide to carefully lift it from the water and give you a closer look. Those feeling adventurous can even hold the reptile themselves for an unforgettable photo opportunity!

Day03 & Days 4

Anavilhanas lodge

Each morning, breakfast is served as an inviting buffet filled with a variety of fresh local juices and seasonal tropical fruits. You’ll also find a selection of sweet and savory classics to ensure you’re energized for the day's exciting activities. Throughout your stay, experienced guides will offer a range of excursions and activities included in your package. While we highly recommend participating in all of them, the choice is entirely yours. Here are some of the activities you can enjoy: Pink Dolphin Encounter & Handicrafts in Novo Airão (Approx. 2.5 hours) Visit a floating platform where the enchanting pink river dolphins gather daily, drawn by the fish provided by locals. Afterward, explore two artisan centers where skilled craftsmen showcase products made from natural materials such as woven plant fibers, naturally colored seeds, and local wood. Rainforest Walk (Approx. 2.5 hours) Guided by experienced local experts, venture into the heart of the rainforest and uncover some of the Amazon’s fascinating secrets. Learn about native trees, edible fruits and berries, survival techniques, and the medicinal properties of various herbs found in the jungle. Anavilhanas Archipelago Tour (Approx. 2.5 hours) Embark on a scenic boat trip through the countless channels, lakes, and islands of the world's largest river archipelago. As you navigate through this pristine landscape, admire the untouched natural beauty and observe the rich wildlife that calls this unique ecosystem home. Piranha Fishing (Approx. 2 hours) Enjoy a fun-filled fishing trip aboard traditional wooden canoes as you navigate the Igarapés (water channels) in search of piranhas and other native fish species. As you fish, take in the breathtaking scenery and the peaceful surroundings of the Amazon. Throughout the day, lunches and dinners are served at the lodge, featuring delicious dishes made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, allowing you to savor the authentic flavors of the Amazon in a tranquil and scenic setting.
